HISTORY
"Initially located in the Royal Park, the Concert Noble Company was founded in 1785 by archduke Albert of Saxony, Duke of Teschen, and Marie-Christine, Duchesse of Teschen. The centre was a meeting place for the nobility and the artistic world. Encouraged by King Leopold II, the Concert Noble company built the current reception rooms in the Leopold quarter in 1873.Concert Noble was designed by architect Henri Beyaert, also responsible for the national bank of Brussels and Antwerp. The design of the building is unique: Henri Beyaert created a collection of rooms whose size increases progressively. The visitor therefore passes from the gallery to the reception room, to the gaming room, to the buffet room and the party room before arriving finally at the culmination – the impressive 400 m² ballroom with its 15-metre ceiling and Louis XV décor.
Concert Noble quickly became a special meeting place for many national and international celebrities. In 1982 the Boerenbond Insurance organisation (subsequently integrated in the KBC group) bought this historical monument and, understanding its prestigious role in Brussels, undertook major renovation work. The technical features of the rooms were brought up to date but all their former charm and cachet was retained. The monument has been registered on the list of protected heritage in 1983. The renovation work was completed in 1987 and the building reclaimed its place as an impressive venue for meetings in the political, industrial, social and cultural world.Edificio acquired Concert Noble in December 2009, conserving its initial role of hosting prestigious conferences, concerts, receptions and dinners."
