EWORA Seminar at Mykolas Romeris University

On October 29, 2024, academic leaders and researchers gathered at Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) in Vilnius, Lithuania, for a seminar organized by the European Women Rectors Association (EWORA). Titled "Universities as Change Agents to Create a Gender-Based Violence-Free Society," the event underscored the critical role of higher education institutions in combating gender-based violence, serving as a platform for dialogue and collaborative action.

The seminar opened with a series of keynote addresses that set the stage for addressing the roots of gender-based violence and the unique responsibilities of academia in preventing it. This was followed by a panel discussion in which speakers shared insights, challenges, and successful initiatives from their institutions. The event concluded with an engaging discussion session, inviting participants to exchange ideas and strategies for fostering safer, more inclusive academic environments.

This seminar marks a significant step in EWORA’s ongoing efforts to advance gender equality and reduce gender-based violence in academic settings. EWORA expresses its gratitude to MRU for hosting the event and to all attendees for their valuable contributions to this important cause.
