ZOU Xiaoqiao is now the Vice-President of Women Leadership Academy and a visiting professor of China University of Political Science and Law.
Zou Xiaoqiao graduated from Beijing Foreign Studies University and continued her further study and training in Canberra University in Australia, University of Chicago in the United States and the University of Los Andes in Colombia. She served as Director-General of the International Department of the All-China Women’s Federation. As an independent expert, she worked as a Member and Vice-Chairperson of the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women from 2005-2016. For years, she has been involved in promoting women’s human rights, gender equality and empowerment of women both locally and internationally. She had opportunities to participate in number of regional, international and the UN conferences on women and social development, such as the Third World Conference on Women (Nairobi), the Fourth World Conference on Women (Beijing), the 23rdspecial session of the UN General Assembly, the International Conference on Population and Development, the World Summit for Social Development, as well as UN Commission on the Status of Women and others.
Zou Xiaoqiao also participated in a great deal of thematic discussions and seminars and made speeches on issues of gender equality and women in leadership, women in economic development, women in education and training, and women’s human rights protection and etc.
