Season's Greetings

2018 was a great year for EWORA as we held a Workshop entitled "Change Management and Resistance”  hosted by Lisbon Nova University on 25 May 2018. The 1st EWORA Honorary AWARD Ceremony was also held on the same day at the  Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education of Portugal hosted by the Minister Mr. Manuel Heitor. EWORA’s first Honorary Award has been presented to the Swedish government as the first Feminist Government in the world. Helene Hellmark Knutsson, Minister for Higher Education and Research in the Swedish Government honored us in this Award Ceremony. The workshop and the Award Ceremony have had a remarkable attendance of women leaders from European universities.
EWORA Regional Meetings have also been organized in Poland and in Turkey. We are planing to extend these meetings to other countries in the coming years. EWORA was also invited to make contributions to several international conferences on Gender Equality in Higher Education & Research and represented by EWORA President and BoD members. Additionally, during 2018, EWORA held 2 BoD Meetings together with its Scientific Advisory Board members to work on future programs and projects.
The 2nd Honorary Award will take place at Malmö University during the 6th EWORA Conference on 13-14 May 2019.  The title of the conference is  “Responding to Evolving Challenges: Best Practices for Women Leadership in Academia”. The confirmed speakers have been already announced:  We will be back in 2019 with a detailed program of this conference.

Wishing you happy holidays and all the best for 2019.
